I bought Version 5.0 from a retail
store. How do I upgrade to Version 5.1?
You can install version 5.1 directly on top of version 5.0.
Here's how to install the upgrade:
- Make sure PicturePerfect 5.0 is installed from the CD.
- Install 5.1 from our Web site. You can get
the file here.
- Open PicturePerfect on your device to ensure it is working
properly.
Please Note: This will leave icons for PicturePerfect
5.0 and PicturePerfect 5.1, both of which will run PicturePerfect
5.1. If you now remove PicturePerfect 5.0, you will need to
reinstall PicturePerfect 5.1, as the uninstall process for PicturePerfect
5.0 will delete the PicturePerfect 5.1 program files.
How do I copy pictures from my PC into
my Pocket PC?
You can do the entire file transfer process from your PC as
follows:
- On your PC, right click the Start button, then click
Explore. This opens a window into the file system of
your PC.
- Find the image files you want to copy to your Pocket PC,
select them, and choose Edit, Copy from the menu.
- Connect your device to your PC.
- Open ActiveSync, and click the Explore button.
This opens a window into the file system of your Pocket PC.
- Navigate to the folder where you want to put your files.
- Click Edit, Paste from the menu, and the image files
are copied to your device.
Why doesn't my registration code work?
Registration codes have changed starting with version 5.0.
If your code starts with RPQ, then it will work with 5.0. Otherwise,
your code is for version 4.0 only, and you will need to upgrade.
What's the best size for images?
PicturePerfect can handle almost any size image, but pictures
will load fastest when they are 240 by 320 pixels.
I get a message that I am out
of memory when I try to view a photo. What can I do?
You can solve this by either:
- Freeing up more Program Memory on your device.
- Or, by copying the photos to your PC, and reducing the size.
The Pocket PC's resolution is 320x240, and as such, any larger
pictures wont display in any more detail. We usually recommend
pictures be scaled to 320x240, or 640x480 if you want to zoom
in sometimes.
